We have some new Tesla Updates including Roadster Updates, Tesla Semi Updates, and Cybertruck updates!

Elon Musk Jay Leno:
The full segment was a little disappointing, because the trailers gave it all away, but it was cool to get some Cybertruck news, even though some was out of date.

Elon showed Jay Leno the Tesla Semi which should should be way cheaper than driving a typical Semi.

He then showed Jay the Tesla Model y which Elon mentioned as being the SUV version of the Tesla Model 3.

Then it got really exciting when they looked at the Tesla Roadster. It is the fastest accelerating car Jay Leno has ever been in.

Tesla plans to add SpaceX Rocket Thrusters to the Roadster for maximum acceleration. It will be a cold gas thruster using ultra high pressure commpressed air that will drop the license plate, thruster behind it, just like James Bond.

The base Model of the Roadster will get a 0-60 of 1.9s

Then Elon talked about the Tesla Cybertruck, and stood on the back cover mentioning all the top features including the fact that the Cybertruck is bulletproof, and could mount a missile launcher on the back. They drove it through the boring tunnel.

Elon said that the Cybertruck is 5% too big and needs to fit in a normal garage, but this is out of date.
He said 3% change on twitter, with a 1.5% change in interior dimensions. Saying that it is still very roomy After all of this, Elon ended up tweeting:

“Reviewed design with Franz last night. Even 3% smaller is too small. Will be pretty much this size. We’ll probably do a smaller, tight world truck at some point”.

It will remain VERY LARGE

Regarding the Cybertruck Fail, or Cybertruck window break, Elon talked on Joe Rogan’s podcast saying that when it broke, it was because of the Sledgehammer breaking the corner. They should have reversed the order. In any case, the incident was overall positive for the Cybertruck with Tesla at over 600,000 pre-orders for it.

Electrek poll shows 87.72% of people who voted called it a net positive

The Cybertruck Suspension will be an All New Air Suspension
“We’re working on increasing dynamic air suspension travel for better off-roading. Needs to kick butt in Baja”

The Cybertruck will also handle water well:
“Yes. It will even float for a while”.

Regarding heavy rain or hail if it has to stay parked outside, Elon said that it will be “Pretty Much” Impervious to hail damage.

The Cybertruck Heat Pump will happen, as they will likely add it to all future cars:

“Will Cybertruck get a heat pump like the Model Y?”
“Yeah, and whole lot more! Aargh, I’m dying to make Cybertruck like yesterday!!”

Regarding the color of the Cybertruck Paint or Cybertruck Wrap, Elon said “You will be able to wrap it in any color or pattern”

It is not clear If this is after the fact or from Tesla directly, but it is clear that you can’t have it painted, it has to be a wrap.

Likely, it will be an all new Cybertruck Tesla paint/wrap shop wherever they open their Cybertruck factory.

Elon has mentioned a similar paint shop for Giga Berlin

“Giga Berlin will have world’s most advanced paint shop, with more layers of stunning colors that subtly change with curvature”

Likely going to be Tesla’s paint shops from now on, which is a welcomed improvement over their current and past paint issues.

Regarding a new factory, Tesla is looking to build the Cybertruck in Nashville, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Texas. It would be doing Cybertruck as well as Model Y, even though it is called the Cybertruck Gigafactory.

Tesla should be announcing it next month in June, according to Elon, but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear it later, and it seems like a Gigafactory Texas is the most likely option.

Top 10 States with Pre-Orders

California – 12.9%…obviously
Texas – 6.3%
Florida – 5.43%
Washington – 4.13%

Cybertruck is huge, it won’t fit in a garage, but why do you need it to? It will be launching in 2021 before the Roadster according to Elon on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

Lastly, there is a possibly Plaid Cybertruck.
“Plaid Cybertruck is what I will drive” tweet. Elon could be referring to the tri-motor AWD Cybertruck of possible a new Cybertruck plaid that would be even better.

Alfred Demello says:

The cyber truck is big because it's a truck

Jonathan Root says:

Yes it's too big, barely fits in my garage, but I'm still getting one! 🤣

Scott Mohrman says:

Sure it’s bigger than a Y but it’s similar to the Ford F150 and other trucks.

Dieter Zerressen says:

There's pickup truck loyalty but Tesla is one of those things you don't know that you need. My building contractor told me he spends $300 to $400 a month for fuel and can't wait to charge up a CT overnight at the cheapest rate and leave his garage in the morning without having to stop to fuel up for the day. Oh and not having to drag a generator or air compressor to each site and have it stolen overnight is also a HUGE plus.

THOSE GUYS says:

Why is he saying the cyber truck is to big when comparing it to a car like duh it’s a truck that’s the point

Marie White says:

I can't imagine how a rocket Thruster will be street legal.

Matthew Love says:

I thought us men want big trucks

Gabeasher says:

I preordered the tri-motor with the 500+ range, I'd be curious if the battery pushes 600 miles or more with the new mixture.

Battery day. Sept 22nd.

David dk Kerr says:

Please do a video on what happens if you Get into an accident since it has an exoskeleton can you just replace parts of it? How’s it gonna affect insurance rates? This is something no one has covered yet it would be a very interesting video let me know when you do it

Timothy Beaven says:

The complaint of the cybertruck being too big is dumb. There are many mid and full-size trucks that don't fit into the average garage. The cybertruck is rated as a medium duty truck.

Keith D. Rundle says:

IDK, Im just not on the Tesla (or any EV) bandwagon yet. The Tesla truck is butt ugly at best.

Tesla Dude says:

Great video, I now live in San Antonio, TX, what is a garage? No-one in my neighborhood has one. My neighbor charges his M3 with his charger coming out of the side of his house. No garages here. Is this a truck or a garage vehicle!! It's bulletproof, who needs a damn garage!!!

ŤhęĞãmîñğ Bøömęř says:

The look of it grows on you

Dieter Soegemeier says:

I want the ciber truck and the size is great

Jon Mitchell says:

I don't care about off road, how big of a trailer can it pull?

Paul Archer says:

Speaking of vehicles that float, how about a new-design FEMA trailer that can float the distance of it's connections, and/or be yanked out of there on short notice if needed. aka tiny houses?

Cirex Vecina says:

this truck is badass and made for badass people. . .ang badass people don't need garage. . .

Michael Heider says:

10 rocket engineers = thats the perfect size.
1 YouTube guy = no its to big

Vladdy says:

I ordered my Tri-Motor. Cant wait

Motorcycle Michael says:

It would fit just fine in my garage

Jim Steinberg says:

In my nearly 70 years I have never owned anything but trucks. I checked the measurements of the cybertruck against the dimensions of the truck I drive today. The cybertruck is smaller. As for garaging it ? Seriously ? It will have solar panels, it wants to live outside. My garage is a workshop. The truck can live outside. It does not even need a kennel.
