I would be excited but I have been caught out too many time in the past. Stop re-purposing past franchises for your own political agenda. You have eviscerated Star Wars, you have eviscerated Star Trek. Now you are coming for Foundation. Leave Isaac alone until you can approach his work with respect for him and your audience.
I would love this to be great but I suspect it will be WOKE. Gender Swapping and Race Bating by having a Black Female Salvor Hardin who overcomes "privilege" to secure a voice for the unrepresented population of Foundation. Once on the Board s/he is resented and gets disparaged for his/her (correct) ideas. If the most vocal of those ridiculing Salvor are older Straight White Men; then without respect, we reject.
If Jared Harris is supposed to be Hari Seldon, then why is he walking?
Woke detected….. pass.
(Trailer Voice)
From the co-worker of the second cousin of the writer of Dark Knight and Batman Begins…
and…
The geniuses who created the seven hundred dollar computer wheels…
comes….
Another generic sci-fi adaptation that has very little to do with the source marterial…

This film is not yet rated.
did they even read the books?
0:56 Man says "It's almost a certainty" but as he says it, shakes his head "no." So maybe it's not a certainty? Whatever. Maybe the series will come out on DVD for those few of us who can't or don't want to subscribe to anything Apple or maybe if necessary can't buy an Apple device.
This actually looks really good & nothing like what I was expecting from an adaption of a book that was written almost 70 years ago! I was expecting or hoping that it would look something like The Empire Strikes Back but some how they have made this look like something else/new? Well done to those that put this together! I loved the book and I'm expecting or hoping the book will be kind of a frame that this series is built on, with key events from the book happening within the TV series. I don't think you could just do a direct adaption of the book(s) with the time jumps. The 1st book isn't that long and I think they will have to do a season per time period and expand on the story within each time period. I'm really looking forward to this and I hope they do a great job of adapting it as a TV series! I approve of what I see in this teaser!
WOW WOW WOW….WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!
The first trailer for "Foundation" based on Isaac Asimov's 1000 year saga about the fall of the Galactic Empire and the fight to shorten 30.000 years of misery, war and evil, to just a thousand years, through the help of a new break-through science called "psychohistory" through which one can anticipate and follow/predict history given enough of a mathematical mass.
The last great scientist of humanity, Hari Seldon, invents this science, and sets up a plan to counter the long period of barbarity to follow, through the means of two foundations at each side of the galaxy. The Foundations have one task, and that is to gather the knowledge of humanity and preserve it through the period of darkness.
BUT this is not really what the Foundations are set up to do.
Isaac Asimov's work, considered the best sci-fi series of books of all time, is based on Edward Gibbon's "The Decline And Fall Of The Roman Empire" (published 1776-1789) covering the years 98 CE to 1590 CE (Nota Bene; the Roman Empire fell in 1453 CE).
I read the foundation trilogy several times, always a great read. I hope they do the story justice.
